STEWARDESS

I’m a stewardess, but I used to be an editor for a magazine, so I always have had my head in the clouds. In addition, I’ve always been attracted by the heights and distances and so I came up with a great idea – I could explore the world as a flight attendant! 🙂

Long before I became an air hostess and made traveling my main hobby, I was always attracted to far away places. I never had enough money, but if you really dream of something… there has always been an opportunity to travel out of the blue. Whether an offer from a travel agency came when they wanted me to write an article about their new destination, or it was an invitation from my partner… Thanks to that, I could get to know a few real gems of Europe where I love to come back in my memories…

#VENICE

Brother’s friends used to work in Verona and when he resigned, he left a few personal things at his previous employers. Later he decided to pick them up. He took his brother as an co-driver and me as a travel companion, because I am always in, for spontaneous trips like that. Would you reject an invitation for an intense 48-hour adventure in Italy? We slept in the car and on the way from Verona we stopped in Venice. I remember it was raining almost all day and I was walking barefoot. My shoes were unpleasantly squeaking, but barefoot it was so romantic… 🙂

#SICILY

I worked in La Femme Magazine when BIODERMA offered my colleague and other Slovak and Czech female journalists a trip to Sicily as a thank-you for their year-round cooperation. My colleague couldn’t go, so I was the lucky one. We stayed in a beautiful hotel in the village of Taormina, which was right under the Etna volcano. The town was carved into volcanic rocks and the cable car was used for the beach. During our stay we also went for a trip to the picturesque Sicilian village of Savoca, where the cult film The Father was shot and where Al Pacino, a.k.a. Corleone, Cappo di tutti cappi, had a wedding ceremony with his first Sicilian wife.

#BARCELONA

By chance, we found these cheap flight tickets with Ryanair from Bratislava to Barcelona. And a month later, for a few euros, together with my best friend found ourselves in an amazing and colorful city, just like the Spanish brand Desigual or the artworks of Gaudi. Not only the Sagrada Familia, but also Gaudi’s Güell Park, and especially the huge Picasso Museum in the old “Gothic” area were the most memorable.

#AMALFI

When the SATUR travel agency offered me a trip to Campania in Italy for an article, I couldn’t be more excited. I was invited to experience some really intense days in one of the most beautiful areas of Italy. Tasting local wines and Mozzarella, visiting a buffalo farm or the ancient city of Pompeii buried under the lava of Mount Vesuvius and then romantic little towns embedded in the rocks of Amalfi coast. Especially Positano… “Always when I took my girl there for a vacation, she fell in love with me,” our host told us. This town in the rocks is that magical. The smell of lilac and sea salt, waves braking on the rocks. All the romantic coves, rocky cliffs, narrow terraced streets, galleries, cafes and taverns with a deluxe view. For days I could sit by the pool, sip Bellini and watch the boats in the bay… It’s really hard not to fall in love…

P.S .: Even Sophia Loren has her villa here.

#CAPRI

During the trip to Campania, we did not miss a visit to the “Lemon island”. I called it so because there were gigantic lemons everywhere, and everything was colored in shades of yellow. Yellow candles, yellow chocolate, yellow candies, almonds dipped in yellow sauce, and Limoncello liquor was yellow too. But the sea has all shades of blue and the streets were all white. The la Piazezetta alley was the perfect place for sipping dark espresso and inhaling the atmosphere. Did you know that Eisenhower and Churchill have decided about the future of the world right on Capri island during the Second World War?…

#SARDEGNA

They say it’s a Caribbean of Europe. And my new boyfriend wanted to take me here to impress me. However, the luxurious Porto Cervo, with its billionaire haciendas and gold yachts did not impress me that much. Much more I enjoyed the trip to the ancient town of Alghero in the north of the island. Caribbean blue sea and Sardinian cuisine made my trip…

#SEVILLE

Another trip from SATUR travel agency for journalists, but this time to Andalusia. Right here I feel in love with traditional “Jamon” (wild piglets ham) and the refreshing cold tomato soup Salmorejo. However, my heart was stolen by Flamenco and the sound of a Spanish guitar. When you are in the capital of Andalusia, Seville, be sure to check out the Plaza de Espana, where the Star Wars Castle is located.

#ALGAVRE

It is just a short drive from Andalusia to Portuguese seaside town of Faro. Not that well known as an holiday destination yet, but that should be changed. The medieval port has a soul of ancient Romans, the Portuguese and the Arabs together. The ocean is relatively cold in the summer, the climate more fresh, but the Portuguese old villages, such as Algavre and Portuguese pastry is irresistible!
