STEWARDESS
I’m a stewardess, but I used to be an editor for a magazine, so I always have had my head in the clouds. In addition, I’ve always been attracted by the heights and distances and so I came up with a great idea – I could explore the world as a flight attendant! 🙂

Phew. When I see my professionally prepared bed in Sheraton hotel in Brussels, I can tell, my first flight is successfully over. The cabin manager was easy-going, the passengers were nice, understandable and not too demanding. Now we have less than eighteen hours before the next flight back to Abu Dhabi. Most of the crew therefore decide for the dinner at the hotel (with a 50% discount for a cabin crew) and a bed, but me and Debora from Portugal can not go to sleep without traditional Belgian waffles.
An hour later, we are meeting at the reception and going out to the streets. Without a map, just following the smell of Belgian chocolate. Some of the crew told us that the city center is about thirty minutes of walking to the right from our hotel, but we are walking for about an hour and seems we are still far away from the main center. For all the time we haven’t seen even one waffle stall! We try to ask for the direction and the Belgians are responsive, but unfortunately they don’t speak English very well. Not even students! Using the body language they are sending us to all possible directions. Only after another twenty minutes we meet one young lady, who is able to show us where he metro station is and what line we should take. Seems we get far away from the city.
When we leave the metro, outside is dark and quite cold already. But after short while, in one corner of the street we finally see one waffle stall! With a full stomach walking is much easier and suddenly we see waffle stalls everywhere around. Now we must be close to the city center!
It doesn’t last long and we reach the famous square Gran Place du Brusseles with majestic buildings and famous chocolate factories. We buy chocolate souvenirs (this is mandatory in Brussels!), make some photos and get back to the hotel… Tired but satisfied…
