STEWARDESS

I’m a stewardess, but I used to be an editor for a magazine, so I always have had my head in the clouds. In addition, I’ve always been attracted by the heights and distances and so I came up with a great idea – I could explore the world as a flight attendant! 🙂

Aah, my most favorite city in the world! After 14 years from high school trip, I’m here again! Rome is my love since I’ve seen an old movie with Audrey Hepburn Vacanze Romane. I do not know more romantic place in the world then Rome. It’s a shame that I can not walk with ice cream in the hand like Audrey, because Iit‘s freezing outside, but despite the winter time, I can not complain about the weather. The sun shines and the sky is clear from clouds. This time, I sacrifice the sleep and I‘m heading to the city energized by delicate al dente pasta with grilled pieces of squid. Together with our colleagues, we first go to the Vatican city to light the candle and admire Michelangelo’s art in the Sistine Chapel. When we are later leaving the St. Peter’s Square, it’s dark outside. A little walk through the romantic streets around Borgo Pia until we get to the old Bridge of Angels, who once connected the Vatican with Rome. The day ends with a fantastic dinner – Pansotti stuffed with artichokes and ricotta with cream herb sauce. Yummy!
On the next day, the city’s other sights are planned. We probably will not manage to see everything, but the Colosseum and ruins of the Roman Forum Palace are must see. I wonder how many thousands of years, how many life stories this city remembers, and how many ghosts of cruelly murdered slaves are blinking at the ruins in the night. If I can give you a tip, check out the Forum Romanum Palace first. Buy the combined ticket for Colosseum at the same time and so avoid huge queues for tickets in front of the Colosseum. My colleagues decide for a pizza in a restaurant overlooking the famous monument while I ditch the group and with a map in my hands head to the Di Trevi fountain. 14 years ago I threw a coin into it, so I could come back here again. Now I’m tossing a coin again with the wish that this time it will not take another 14 years until I show up again in Rome. I hope that it will come this summer so I can have ice cream in my hand and that Audrey Hepburn‘ walks through the splendid Spanish stairs…

Positano – Italian version of Eat Pray Love

There are so many beautiful places and women and so much good wine and food in the world, that those who are not exploring its beauties and tastes, are wasting their time. Such people don’t live fully. The Italians could teach you.

Rome #2

Do you know where the secret places are? Where you can take iconic postcard-look-like pictures without disturbing heads of Chinese tourists?

Milan #2

Even more fantastic than the interior of the dome, however, is its rooftop terraces where the beautiful view is not only over the impressive details of the entire building but also over the city itself.

Milan #1

For a Christmas spirit, we have to travel to Europe. I’m so glad I have in my schedule the flight to Milan!
